HERNDON, VA – January 26, 2009 – NetWitness Corporation, the leading provider of next generation network monitoring and threat analysis solutions, today announced the release of NetWitness Broker, a high-performance Linux-based network appliance that extends the reach of NetWitness NextGen™ across the enterprise and facilitates real-time and historical reporting and alerting. For the first time, comprehensive network and application layer detail can be analyzed across multiple capture locations and made available to NetWitness NextGen’s automated and interactive analytic applications.
NetWitness Broker enables ultimate scalability and deployment flexibility across an entire enterprise instrumented with NetWitness NextGen. This new appliance provides a single point of access to NetWitness NextGen data and is designed to operate and scale in any network environment, independent of network latency, throughput, or data volume. NetWitness Broker builds on the capabilities of NetWitness Concentrator, also designed to operate hierarchically, at organization-specific network topologies and infrastructures.
The cornerstone of the NetWitness NextGen infrastructure are the NetWitness Decoders, real-time, distributed, highly configurable 64-bit Linux-based network recording appliances that enable users to collect, filter, and analyze full network traffic. Unlike every other network recording or monitoring product on the market, Decoder fully reassembles and globally normalizes traffic at every layer for full session analysis. The addition of NetWitness Broker provides a real-time, single, enterprise view across NetWitness Decoders and Concentrators, giving instantaneous access to every dimension of network traffic being captured.
