The more I keep reading various documents the more confused I get, for such a simple thing.
I am on 10.6.3 or later and trying to find the most reliable script to use.
This article has the v2 backup script and titled as 10.6.3 or later, yet inside the document it specifies 10.6.2 or later.
RSA Security Analytics Configuration Backup and Restore Script Downloads for 10.6.3 or Later
Then there is a v3 version of the script under NetWitness v11 with no documentation or change log whatsoever.
RSA NetWitness Logs & Packets 11.x Backup Scripts
What are the differences between the two scripts?
Is v3 compatible with 10.6.2/3 or later?
If v3 superseded v2 then why v2 hasn't been replaced and documentation updated?

Currently the v2.0 scripts are the official backup and restore option for 10.6.x (the listed versions in the script and doc should match, but those are just the versions it was "qualified" on). They will unofficially support backup/restore back to 10.5.x (I know I wrote the scripts initially on 10.5 to migrate customers off the dreaded SD cards on the R620's)
The V3.0 scripts on RSA-Link, SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR UPGRADE TO 11.0, do NOT use these for 10.6 backup and restore, or you will Brick the system you are restoring. We are working to merge the scripts so there is a single script that will work for both 10.6.x backup/restore, and 11.0 upgrade backups.

Thanks John, makes sense.
