Check log event source status via API

Hello,

Is it possible to check the status of various log sources via the API.

I want to be able to check if an event source (ie. Windows Domain Controller) is sending logs, or hasn't sent logs over the past 24 hours or even check if a particular event source exists via the API

Can anyone answer my question if log sources and be queried via the API or another method other than through the UI?
