Issue
How to use NwConsole to validate account credentials at RSA Security Analytics service levels.
How can I make sure all service level and appliance level passwords are the same?
Resolution
In order to validate the account credentials at all service levels (service and appliance), follow the steps below:
- Connect the appliance in question via SSH
- Issue the command NwConsole to enter the Security Analytics Console
- Login to the service level in question (refer to the table below) by issuing one of the commands below.
If SSL is disabled, use the following command: login localhost:<service_level_port> admin
If SSL is enabled, use the following command: login localhost:<service_level_port>:ssl admin
NOTE: The user service name may be different based on the current configuration: i.e. nwservice - At the prompt, enter the password for the account in question.
-
- If the login was successful, you will see the following output:
Password: *********
Successfully logged in as session 3835430 - If the login attempt fails, you will see the following output:
Invalid username or password
> (F) 2014-Jun-13 11:48:17 [ChannelManager::messageHandler] Socket Error: End of file
- If Step 4 is successful, you can issue the command logout and repeat as necessary for the various service levels.
