The SCCM process does not allow .exe files to be used to install software.
Is it possible to use RSA NetWitness Endpoint agent packager to create .msi files?
The RSA NetWitness Endpoint Agent Packager will create three types of install packages.
- output.exe
- ECAT00064.msi
- ECAT00032.msi
All three files contain the certificates, the name of the ECAT service, and information on locating the ECAT Console Server. (primary, secondary, and where applicable the RAR Server)
The .exe file contains the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of the .msi file. You can change the name of the output.exe to fit your needs.
Whenever you create a new packager, the default behavior will overwrite any previous files with the same name. This includes the .msi files as well.
Therefore, if the SCCM requires the use of .msi files, you can use the 64-bit or the 32-bit files instead of the .exe file.
