Task

This article provides supplemental information about how to backup raw logs on a Security Analytics Archiver.

Option 1:  Backup using Workbench

1. Deploy Workbench first.  (Refer to Appendix E in the Security Analytics 10.4 Upgrade Instructions.)
2. Configure Data Backup and Restore. 

 
Option 2:  Configure Archiver to Use Secondary Long-Term Data Storage
A guide available in the Security Analytics documentation explains how to attach warm/cold storage to the Archiver (e.g NAS).


Option 3:  Using the Archiver RESTful API
Back up the available raw logs from the Archiver using your browser or utility like wget remotely.
Refer to the article entitled How to download raw logs from the Archiver in RSA Security Analytics.

Notes

Alternative commands such as rsync with tar or scp may also be used, as well as formal EMC solutions such as Avamar and NetWorker.
