How to Make use of Lists in SA?

Hi team,

I am confused how to create lists and how to use them in the rules. I referred in sadocs but it is not clear enough for the people who are new to the system like me. kindly guide me the process how to use the lists and what values to be given and how to use that effectively.

Hi Akesh,

The list is comma separated values. Either you can create a list which is under Reporting or you can create a dynamic list.

If you create a list then you can refer when you create a rule. So create a rule and you can refer the list. For example list can be comma separated values of username. If the list is big it is recommended to create Application rule and then write the rule in which you can refer the meta directly.

You can create dynamic list in this you can create a rule and output it to a list. Here you can append the values or overwrite the list values.

To start with go to List and add some values, then create a simple rule in the rule UI just reference it.

I have created a list for compliance for user activities and i have given some ip addresses under list for compliance rule and it is working fine now.
