I need to know what is the difference between log decoder and decoder..

I am a Fresh starter of netwitness and SA.

As far as the difference bettewen a decoder and a log decoder:

A decoder can refer to a network packet decoder or a log decorder.  Calling something a log decoder is just specifying that it is built to capture logs not packets.
