Hello, has anyone used and installed SA Investigator 10.5 (thick client)? It works smooth on our environment just as the Investigator 9.8 but I cannot access the Options menu.
It just crashed the whole app, no log, no report and no notification as to why it crashed.
Hope someone gets this too, and knows the fix.

Found the issue and fixed it, I uninstalled the whole thing, removed the Netwitness folder in:
<user>\AppData\Roaming\
Re-installed RSA SA Investigator, and now works like a charm

Hi Rey,
I can't get the issue to occur in my thick client. Does it happen as soon as you open the Options menu or when you select a certain tab within that menu?
I would recommend uninstalling and re-installing the thick client to see if that resolves your issue, and if it doesn't then it would probably be best to engage RSA Support so that they can report the issue as a defect.
Good luck!

Hi Jeff,
Once you Click either Options or Ctrl+O, it closes. I re-installed it twice (one after a restart), and still the same.
I had Netwitness Investigator from way back (uninstalled this one) and then re-installed, still crashes on Options.
Yup, I'll reach out to RSA Support.

what revision of windows are u running it on? also good to maybe check your windows event log on your pc, maybe it left an exit or hex value on exit in the logs. i checked rel notes, dont see any restrictions listed for platform, but that doesnt mean a patch or update to windows isnt conflicting or that it was tested against the specific revision of windows that you are using.

Hi Cindy,
I'm running Windows 8.1 Ent, I also checked the Windows Event logs for errors when openning the options menu (the app crashing) but none was logged.
I removed the NW Investigator 9.8, restarted my machine, re-installed SA Thick client, the issue is still the same.
I'm thinking if I can clean out the registry entry done by Investigator 0.9 and SA and then do a fresh install, I just don't know all the registry entries.

Hi RJ,
This is a 64bit server that you are applying this on? Has the machine been hardened in any way?
Thank you

Well, all other users can access the options menu, it's just my computer that's acting strange, so I think there's no problem with the server.
