Should I upgrade from 11.6.0.0 straight to 12.x.x.x

I'm currently running 11.6.0.0 across the fleet and looking to upgrade.

Can I upgrade direct from 11.6.0.0 to the most recent 12.x.x.x release or do I have to stage it.

 

Also what is max backward compatibility for NWE agents on endpoints talking to the backend servers. eg. Windows 10 running 11.4.0.0 NWE agent, will it have issues communicating with a 11.7.x.x or even 12.x.x.x backend server?

Valid upgrade paths to 12.1 are shown in the release notes: https://community.netwitness.com/t5/netwitness-platform-online/release-notes-for-12-1/ta-p/687964

A direct upgrade from 11.6.0.0 to 12.1.0 is supported.

 

I guess we haven't tested compatibility that far back. I had customers using 11.5 agents on 11.7.1.

but we strongly advise upgrading the agents as well. 11.7 has introduced an inbuilt upgrade capability for agents.
