RSA Announces the Availability of RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2.0.2

RSA is pleased to announce the general availability of RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2.0.2. This patch resolves a number of issues in ECAT 4.2, including a crash in the RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2 Windows Agent when deployed in No Monitor or Network Only Monitor mode. It also improves User Interface Consistency and offers streamlined multi-server communication for enhanced performance in large deployments. It is strongly recommended that users upgrade both the server and the agents to ensure optimal performance and issue resolution.

Note that Installation guidelines were updated in the Release Note, but follow the same guidelines set in the Installation Guide for RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2. The User Guide remains unchanged. Both are available for download through the following links:

Recommendation for RSA NetWitness Endpoint customers:

Customers installing NetWitness Endpoint for the first time, or those upgrading from one of the qualified previous versions below should install RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2.0.2 directly. The RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2.0.2 installer is available for download on RSA Download Central.

Customers upgrading from RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2 must update both agents and servers.

It is recommended that all other users first update to a qualified version before upgrading to RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2.0.2.

Qualified RSA NetWitness Endpoint versions that can directly upgrade to RSA NetWitness Endpoint 4.2.0.2 are:

• RSA ECAT 4.2. (only for Customers who have already deployed it)
• RSA ECAT 4.1.2 (“Service Pack 2”). Upgrade download is available on RSA Link here.
• RSA ECAT 4.1.1.1 (“Service Pack 1, Patch 1””) Full build available on RSA Download Central.
• RSA ECAT 4.0.0.6 (“Patch 6”) (Only for customers who are still upgrading from a 4.0 release.)

Customers upgrading from RSA ECAT 4.0 other than Patch 6, or older versions will need to start with a fresh installation. Note that there will be no RSA NetWitness  Endpoint 4.2.0.1 release supported.
