RSA NetWitness Platform is notifying all users of the scheduled End of Life (EOL) of all Perpetual Licensing, effective May 1, 2021

Summary

RSA is announcing an End of Life for all Perpetual Licensing on the NetWitness Platform (NWP), effective May 1, 2021.

All licensing for NWP and its licensable components; Logs, Network (Packets), Malware Analysis, Endpoint, and UEBA, is transitioning to Throughput Subscription Licensing exclusively, beginning on May 1st, 2021. Perpetual Licensing will no longer be available after this date.

Customers will be offered favorable commercial terms and be converted to Throughput Subscription Licensing at their next transaction event with RSA (renewal, expansion, tech refresh, etc..). Please review the Migration Path section for more details and reach out to your RSA Sales Representative for assistance.

Details for current Appliance License customers:

NWP Appliance License model customers will be migrated to a Throughput Subscription License at their next transaction event, subject to the Migration Path section below.

All current Maintenance contracts will be honored.

Please note the following details, which have no exceptions:

• Maintenance will not be renewed under the Appliance License model.
• No expansion is allowed under the Appliance License model.
• No tech-refresh is allowed under the Appliance License model.

Details for current Throughput Perpetual License customers:

NWP Throughput Perpetual License customers will be migrated to a Throughput Subscription License at their next transaction event, subject to the Migration Path section below.

All current Maintenance contracts will be honored.

Please note the following details:

• Maintenance will not be renewed on Throughput Perpetual Licenses, with extremely limited exceptions.
• No expansion is allowed on Throughput Perpetual Licenses, with extremely limited exceptions.

Product Functionality:

Product functionality is not affected by this EOL. This EOL only effects Perpetual License Models for the NetWitness Platform.

Migration Path:

Customers will be migrated from their Perpetual License(s) to a Throughput Subscription License at their next transaction event with RSA, with favorable commercial terms. This migration is expected to be cost-comparative with the Customers current Perpetual License(s) for an agreed-upon term length.

This migration event is separate from any expansion or technology refresh event that the Customer may be planning.

• NetWitness Logs
• NetWitness Network
• NetWitness Malware Analysis
• NetWitness Endpoint
• NetWitness UEBA
• All NW Appliance License Model Devices (servers, storage, add-on equipment)

Recommendation:

Please reach out to your RSA Sales Representative for assistance with this End of Life notification. RSA is committed to migrating customers to the Throughput Subscription License model with no disruption to Customer environments.

As part of this migration, Customers will receive a new license (Throughput Subscription) that is globally applicable to their deployment(s). RSA Customer Support remains available to assist Customers in this license transition.
