Summary:
RSA is notifying customers of multiple updates for Security Analytics (SA) 10.6 packages. Specific updates include the following:
- SA Server script update – Script utilized for updating the SA Server from versions 10.4.x and 10.5.0 to 10.6. The update includes enhancements to shorten the amount of time taken during the upgrade as well as additional feedback to the user during the upgrade. There is no impact for customers who have already upgraded to SA 10.6.
- SA 10.4.1 and SA 10.5.2 package updates – Updated packages have been posted to RSA SecurCare Online at https://knowledge.rsasecurity.com for these two versions. These are only needed for customers who have already upgraded their SA Server to 10.6 and have a need to upgrade one of the hosts in their environment to a 10.4.1/10.5.2 version. This is expected where a customer may want to apply these versions to a host while they are still in process of upgrading their entire environment to 10.6. The reason for these package updates is based on a file structure utilized in the 10.6 repository that is different from previous versions.
- 10.6 package updates – Updated packages have been posted to RSA Download Central at https://download.rsasecurity.com for 10.6. The original packages are still accessible and utilized for upgrades to 10.6. If during an upgrade of their environment to 10.6, the customer has deleted their packages on the local repository on the SA Server, they will need these packages to import onto their SA Server. The reason for this is based on a different file structure utilized in the 10.6 repository that is different from previous versions.
Affected Products:
RSA Security Analytics Servers upgraded to 10.6
Recommendation:
There is no action needed for customers who have already upgraded their environment to 10.6. If customers have not started their upgrade we recommended downloading the latest SA Server script which decreases the amount of time it takes for upgrading the SA Server itself to SA 10.6. If customers are in process of upgrading, they only need to leverage the other updates above if they have a need to upgrade one of their hosts to 10.4.1 or 10.5.2 OR if they have had issues resulting in the deletion of the 10.6 repository on the local SA Sever and are not connected to smcupdate for their updates.
