Hello,
We monitor our servers and applications hosted on those servers through Solarwinds Orion.
Currently there is no support for SNMP monitoring on the Identity Routers.
SNMP support on the identity Routers would allow server and applications hosted on individual servers to be monitored by a 3rd party service (such as Solarwinds Orion). This would allow alerts to be sent to the helpdesk and/or admin group when services on each individual IDR is up or down and send out an alert accordingly.
As far as i know there is only the status servlet that can be monitored via 3rd party services and load balancers, but the problem with this is that it does not monitor the individual running services on each IDR.
When testing this using 3 IDRs behind a F5 load balancer and Solarwinds Orion. the "Application Failed" status does not appear until the service is done on all 3 IDRs.
This is a problem because if one server goes down and an alert is not sent out, then no body knows its down as service is not interrupted and monitoring services continue to show the services running. Then if another server goes down a week later, again no body is aware it has gone down since the service monitor shows the service running and no alert is sent out. So then the 3rd server goes down another week later and then you have no service and then an alert is sent out, and the thought of the admins are that all 3 servers went down at the same time but in fact that is not the case.
